Tampa, Florida Certified Public Accountant Satya Shaw was honor on November 10, 2018 by Gujarati Samaj of Tampa Bay during its annual Diwali celebration.
More than 2,100 people from the Indian American community and the greater community at large attended the festival, which honored Shaw at a gala dinner. He is a longtime community activist and organizer who is respected for his decades of positive contributions. The successful event is part of GSTB’s outreach and service to the community.
It has been a busy autumn for Shaw, who organized a successful event to welcome new Consul General of India Dr. Swati Kulkarni to Tampa in October. More than 200 people attended that well-received event, including a local congressman, a commissioner and other dignitaries. A former contestant of the Indian version of The Voice television program provided entertainment that day.
At the Diwali celebration, thousands gathered to celebrate one of the most significant events in Hinduism. This spiritual festival of lights recognizes the overcoming of light over darkness and goodness over perceived evils. Being recognized during this celebration is a high honor for any individual.
